The Brief

Wellsgreen started off life as a driving range, but has since expanded to include a restaurant, putting green, 6 hole course, professional shop, custom fitting and teaching. The manager of this facility, PGA professional Stewart Whiteford, was keen to give his customers as much information as possible and make the website work hard for the facility. He also wanted as much control over the content of the website as possible.

The Solution

The developed solution reflects the diversity of services that Wellsgreen offers to it’s users. Some of the key features of the website are the shop, restaurant and news sections. Stewart was keen to keep the users of the facility up to date with what’s going on in way of special events and promotions, therefore the home page features a news section. As well as this the shop and restaurant pages are fully customisable with the ability to add menus/products, upload images, etc.

As with other projects we have used a custom built Content Management System (CMS), so the administration have full control over content. The CMS was designed to provide the client with the ability to insert / change content, without worrying about the layout. The benefits of using a custom built CMS rather than an out of the box one is that the users only have controls that are relevant to them. This makes updating the site simple and because all you need is a web browser to use it, the site can be updated from any computer in the world, provided you know the username and password of course.
